Humanities Center 2023-2024 Fund for Conferences & Symposia

July 26, 2023

  • The Humanities Center is accepting internal proposals from tenured and tenure-track faculty wishing to host conferences and symposia at UT primarily focused on humanistic research. Proposals for multi-disciplinary events are encouraged but not required. Funding will be allotted to faculty to support one-time hosting of conferences or symposia with regional, national, or international reach; events internal to UT and department conferences that run annually as part of department outreach are not eligible for funding.

Prior to applying to the Humanities Center, faculty must have applied for other funding support for the event, preferably from an external (non-UT) sponsor. Events must be concluded by June 15, 2024.

The application will require the following:

    • 1 page project description
      • Title of conference/symposium
      • Logistical details: dates, estimated attendance, location, etc.
      • Significance of event
    • Itemized budget (maximum request of $4,000)
    • 2 page faculty host CV
    • Evidence of application for additional funding

Please submit your materials via the InfoReady portal by Friday, September 22, 2023.
